Save today, save for years with energy-efficient CFLs!
 CFLs are much more efficient than old-fashioned incandescent light bulbs: CFLs use 75% less energy the same amount of light, are cooler to the touch and last 6–10 times longer. Over the lifetime of a typical CFL, you’ll save $50 or more on your electricity bills.
To make the switch to CFLs even more attractive, Efficiency Maine has worked with participating Maine stores to discount the price of all CFLs, whether the familiar spiral design, or one of the many new types: candelabras, globes, dimmables, 3-ways and outdoor bulbs. No coupons to bring in or rebate forms to fill out—just look for the Efficiency Maine sticker on the shelf.
Look for the Energy Star®label
CFLs that are ENERGY STAR® tested have proven to be the most reliable. However, there are many new specialty bulbs that may not yet be ENERGY STAR®-rated, yet still perform reasonably well, and are more efficient than incandescent bulbs. So Efficiency Maine discounts all CFLs, ENERGY STAR®-rated or not.
We strongly encourage you to read the labels, be aware of the warrantee, and understand they have not gone through the rigorous testing required for ENERGY STAR® certification.
