In addition, basic lighting information and assistance is provided for a variety of lighting technologies and space types. This document is not intended to replace the assistance provided by lighting dealers, designers, or the Efficiency Maine staff, and program participants are encouraged to seek additional lighting assistance.

Linear fluorescent lamps are the dominant type of lighting currently used in business applications. Recent advances
in fluorescent lamps and electronic ballasts have created the opportunity for significant energy savings
when replacing any prior generation of fluorescent lighting.
