Gulf Oil Terminal Makes E10
Blend
The South Portland Gulf Oil LP terminal is blending 10 percent ethanol with
its gasoline supply, rapidly replacing all of its gasoline with the
ethanol-blended fuel. The E10 fuel is available at Gulf and Exxon stations in
the Portland area. The supplier intends to expand E10 sales to other areas by
summer. (Portland Press Herald 05/08/08)
Tanking Economy Leads to Rise in
Grease Thefts
Restaurant waste grease has become "liquid gold" as biodiesel
fuel prices and the value of grease as a biofuels feedstock rise. This has
resulted in a growing number of grease thefts reported across the US. Cases
range from small-time home brewers to big-time tank car operators. (

UMF/Sugarloaf USA Supply Grease
to Green Bean Biofuel
The dining service at University of Maine at Farmington and
Sugarloaf USA resort in Carrabassett Valley are the newest customers sending
their waste oil to the Vassalboro company. Green Bean Biofuel converts used
cooking oil to fuel for diesel-powered vehicles and home heating systems. UMF is
recycling 100% of its waste cooking oil, as it leads the way for dining services
going green. (
