School Budget Booster Initiative
DEADLINE CHANGE: JULY 1, 2008

Special Energy-Efficient Incentives for Maine Schools End Soon!

Image of calendar - July 1, 2008 is circledBecause of the overwhelming response by School Districts all over Maine, Efficiency Maine has moved up the deadline to apply for incentives under the School Budget Booster Initiative to July 1.

This special, limited-time program doubles the ongoing, regular incentives for energy-efficiency retrofits to Maine school buildings. The popularity of the School Budget Booster Initiative has resulted in over 50 applications in just the first six weeks — more than in the entire prior 52 weeks.

How can I help?
We encourage Program Allies to get the word out to schools: the sooner they apply, the better their chances of securing the double-rate incentives. Funds are still available, but they are going fast.

Even without this special initiative, schools will see real benefits from retrofitting existing lighting, HVAC, and other systems with new energy-efficient technologies: they'll save on energy costs for years to come, while gaining a more comfortable and better-lit environment — not to mention setting an example of financial and environmental stewardship for our kids. So don't give up if you miss the July 1 deadline: regular incentives will still be available!

For more information, log onto EfficiencyMaine.com, or call 1-866-376-2463 today.

Efficiency Maine just made it easier than ever for Program Participants and Allies to submit your prescriptive incentive applications: do it online!

You can choose to save a partially completed form, or you can click "submit" and you're done. You'll receive an instant email informing you that the application was received.

Energy-Efficient Building Workshop
Encourage your customers to attend in order to promote energy-efficiency projects, while networking with other facility managers.

Efficiency Maine is offering seven half-day workshops on energy-efficient building at convenient locations throughout the state. These workshops are designed for both technical and non-technical personnel and will focus on low-cost and no-cost efficiency upgrades that will lower energy costs in your buildings. Emphasis will be on measures that qualify under the Efficiency Maine Business Program, which offers enhanced incentives for many lighting, motor, VFD, and HVAC improvements. Anyone attending these sessions will qualify for a discount to our very popular Building Operator Certification course.

Take advantage of this tremendous opportunity to network with other facility managers in a casual environment with subjects geared specifically towards reducing your energy costs!
